In our exclusive chat with Brainasoft, Akash Shastri (CEO at Brainasoft) opens up about Brainasoft and tells us about what future has in store for them.

1) AI is designed to cure efficiency. What are the products/ service solutions that you provide to cater and fulfil this need?

We have two products:
1) Braina 2) Inforobo

Braina® (Brain Artificial) is an intelligent personal assistant, human language interface, speech recognition and automation software. Braina is our flagship product. Braina makes it possible for users to control their computer using natural language voice commands. Braina's assistive technology is also very useful to people with disabilities and vision loss.

Inforobo is first of its kind artificially intelligent information system available in Software as a Service (SaaS) mode which provides all in one solution for sales, customer service, live chat, lead generation, website assistance, and natural language interface for the knowledgebase.

2) Where do you stand in competition in your market space and what plans do you have to make competition irrelevant?

Considering our main product Braina, our competitors are Cortana (Microsoft), Google Now/Assistant (Google), Siri (Apple), and Alexa (Amazon). Though our reach is not so huge like these tech giants, Braina is considered as a better product by our customers and many software evaluators.

For example, Adrian Kingsley (internationally published technology author and a contributor at Forbes, ZDNet and Business Insider) wrote in his review that "Braina is a very interesting take on AI voice assistant technology. Rather than being focused on fancy graphics or gimmicks, Braina is very utilitarian, practical, and actually very functional. During testing, I found its speech recognition to be very accurate - better than even Siri or Hey Google - and the wide range of features that it offers keeps Braina from feeling limited in scope."

Apart from the great functionality that it offers, Braina's users have freedom of customizing the software to a great extent and choosing the third party service they want to use. For example, Braina doesn't force users to use Bing search engine, unlike Cortana.

We are into development of a real artificial intelligence system that can act like a human and isn't just limited to a specific field. Our goal is to make Braina as an intelligent digital assistant that can understand, think and even learn from experience like a human brain.

3) Detail out some of your most remarkable milestones that the organization has achieved.

We achieved a small milestone last month when download count of Braina got over a million. But we are not interested in numbers right now. We are more interested in creating a software with real strong AI and that is our main goal.

4) What’s most exciting about your traction to date?

This is a decade of artificial intelligence and demand for AI products are increasing rapidly. We are seeing a rise of around 15 to 20 percent in Braina's download count every month without running any advertisement campaign. The most exciting thing about Braina is that it is being used in over 180 countries of the world.

5) How will AI disrupt the current industry landscape that you are operating in?

AI and automation will make things easier for people in almost every industry sector. I don't think that AI will put people's jobs at risk and reduce employment. I can rather foresee a productivity effect taking place in the industry due to AI.

6) AI in its current form is not a form of consciousness (it does not have the mental flexibility and common sense essential for human decision making) but rather a form of soft intelligence. Give your views on the future of AI and where do you see yourself with its future advances?

I believe that it will at least take another 25 years for humans to develop a conscious AI or strong AI. We are already working to make Braina understand meanings of English language sentences; think logically and respond to user queries by recalling what it had learned before. In its current form Braina, can already learn facts from conversation and recall the factual information. (as shown in the image below) -
